Earth’s first interstellar visitor confirms that the seeds of life on Earth 3.5 billion years ago may have come from other galaxies

Harvard University astronomers published a paper in the latest issue of “The Astrophysical Journal” saying that they have confirmed that the meteor CNEOS2014-01-08 that broke into the Earth’s atmosphere in 2014 came from another star system and is the first known Earth to date. Interstellar visitor, who visited Earth three years earlier than the famous “Oumuamua”.

Oumuamua is a celestial body that broke into the solar system in 2017. It is numbered A/2017 U1 and is about 200 meters wide. It is cigar-shaped. It is suspected to be an unnatural celestial body due to its special shape. It comes from intelligent life, and some people even speculate that it is an alien spacecraft.

In 2019, researchers discovered CNEOS 2014-01-08 in the catalog of NASA’s Center for Near-Earth Object Studies (CNEOS), a meteor with a width of only 0.9 meters that broke into the Earth’s atmosphere at a speed of 216,000 kilometers per hour, in Papua Explosion over the sea off New Guinea.

The researchers confirmed that CNEOS2014-01-08 indeed came from outside the solar system by modeling the rock’s previous path and assessing its interaction with the gravitational pull of the planets in the solar system. Therefore, CNEOS 2014-01-08 became the first known visitor to Earth from interstellar space so far, the 200-meter-wide asteroid “Oumuamua” that broke into Earth earlier in 2017, and the 0.5-wide asteroid “Oumuamua” that visited Earth in 2018 km of the comet “Borisov”.

The researchers believe that such interstellar visitors may break into Earth every ten years, and analyzing them could provide new insights into the chemical makeup of distant star systems. Researchers have even suspected that the seeds of life that sprouted on Earth 3.5 billion years ago may have come from another star system, due to the frequent visits of interstellar visitors to Earth.
